Job description:
Principal Responsibilities
To drive to the clients' houses and assist our service users in their homes with all personal care needs, including undressing, washing, bathing and toileting.
To assist service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities.
To support and care for service users who are dying.
To promote service users' mental and physical well-being through talking to them, taking them out, and participating in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreation.
To make and change beds and all domestic tasks within the household.
Where required, to assist with service user's laundry, including using a laundrette where necessary.
Read and write reports and participate in staff and service users' meetings and training activities as directed.
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required. Always comply with the organisation's policies and procedures, including the service user's care plan and medication needs.
To report any significant changes in the health or circumstances of service to the registered manager user.
To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible.
All staff are required to attend mandatory training where appropriate; this includes induction and National Vocational Qualifications or their equivalent. The aim is to enable and assist the service in maintaining as much autonomy and independence as possible daily.
To support and assist service users in identifying risks and recording the support plan which minimises and manages the identified risk
To agree and record their needs, wishes and preferences with the service user and how these will be met.
Aspiring candidates must have a GCSE qualification and strong literacy and numeracy abilities. We offer comprehensive training at no cost. Our assessment process includes a value-based interview and proficiency tests in literacy and numeracy.
